The Perfect Step

What are you waiting for? This is it.  It's now.

Just got back from dinner with my husband. We talked about WALK about Life. I told him how I see it happening. Small groups now, here in Dartmouth. Groups across Massachusetts. And then, the US and beyond. This has always been the vision. I have no idea how to make it happen, other than taking one small step and inviting others to take one step with me. It's all I have  -- one step.

Subsequent action: I take one step . You take one step. We take one step and on it goes. Before I know it, everyone is stepping into Life -- a Life heretofore unimaginable. It is here now, for me  -- and you.

I have been taking steps all of my life. I have had friends walk with me. We walk. We talk. Our lives evolve. Did we plan it? NO. We just took one step after another. Together. Then, with others. It all worked to create this life of beauty, wholeness and wonder.  No mistakes. Not one. In fact, if you look back, you will see how every step along the way was the perfect step.

WALK about Life

A lifetime of practice coalesced on one spot in the sun -- Austin, TX, March 2005.

A new friend and I were talking about vision and what I loved to do in my life.This was easy for me. Many of my meaningful relationships occur inside of walking together. From there, he coached me to see beyond my own personal walking to a world of radiantly healthy and vibrantly alive beings walking the world over. The more I saw this, the more I saw the entire universe glowing with the light of Life. I knew I was onto something.

I had spent my whole adult life doing the very thing I loved most to do without ever giving it the full light of my attention. WALK about Life came into being that day.

My life dramatically changed that weekend. I had found the spark of my Life; the thing I could LIVE for doing. Since then, I have been creating and expanding my vision. The very thought of stepping forward, into anything I choose, lights me up! Life has become a powerful expression of who I am.

Used metaphorically or concretely, WALKing forward into Life is a powerful way to be. It is always a choice, whether or not to step in. Withholding a step has become as powerful as actually stepping. It is the conscious awareness of my movement or choice not to move that gives me the feeling of honor. Yes/No, as clear and simple as that.

Living The Dream

Here's how simple it is: For months my husband has said, "someday we will walk up to the corner and get an ice cream after supper." -- Yeah, "someday" we will.

Tonight, we walked out of our house, down the street and to the ice cream shop. All the way I thought:  "This is it! We are living 'someday' now." We saw the beauty of nature, children full of Life and enjoyed the company of each other -- quietly.

The dream keeps showing up everywhere we turn. Who'd have ever thought that right out our back door is a woodland area with trails to the sea? It's better than I envisioned.

Places, things, ways of being, and friends are showing up to be more/better/greater than I ever thought or imagined.

How'd this all happen? Somewhere, somehow I had the notion that I could have it  ALL. I had no idea what having it all would be like, I just knew that I could create it. I didn't know that I ever would, I just knew that I could.
